Now what? We have two choices....Fear or Faith. I have learned that one of them is always at the forefront of my mind, controlling my thoughts and emotions and influencing my decisions. It takes a conscious effort to acknowledge when I am operating in fear, to remind myself what the Word says, and then choose faith. Yes, girls, it's a choice. Not an easy one, but a choice that only we can make for ourselves. We cannot operate in both fear and faith at the same time - it is impossible.
When we feel fearful, we need to consider the source. The enemy knows that when we are afraid, we are like a deer staring into the headlights of the oncoming car. We are immobilized and we just stand there as the next blow hits us. He wants us to be so afraid to make decisions that we do nothing. Fear says that we have no control over the situation or our life and that terrible things are going to happen to us and that there is nothing we can do about it. Fear keeps us bound by all of the "what ifs" that run through our minds. Fear stops us from moving forward.
BUT, what does Faith do? Faith says that the promises of God are forever and amen, no matter what things look like. Faith says that we are His children and that He is our provider, our healer, our stability and security. Faith motivates us to to keep moving through the midst of the storm. To grab that hope that is deep within our soul and say "I choose to trust God in this." We know with faith in Him, that even though we don't have control over our lives, God is in control and He will take care of us. Faith gives us peace when the world is falling apart around us and people are telling us how bad things are...when we don't SEE how it will ever get better.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Choose faith, sister. Believe what God says about your situation and trust Him. He wants the very best for you, and He will do great things in your life if you will let Him. You can do it! You have the power of the Holy Spirit within you!
Philippians 4:6-7(NKJV)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
